What the MIM Does

We serve architects, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, and the masonry industry by providing:

  • Technical assistance for design and construction professionals during the design phase of building projects
  • AIA‑accredited education, including Lunch & Learns
  • Support for our member companies
  • Promotion of masonry excellence across Michigan

If you’re an industry professional, we’re here to help with technical questions, education, and membership support.

 

What the MIM Does Not Do

To help reduce confusion, please note that the MIM does not:

  • Perform masonry repairs or construction work
  • Provide home or building inspections
  • Address leaking basements, cracked foundations, chimney issues, or water intrusion
  • Sell masonry materials or products
  • Offer contractor referrals for private homeowners
  • Handle workmanship, warranty, or installation disputes
  • Site Visits after construction begins

We understand that masonry issues can be stressful, and we want to point you in the right direction. While the MIM does not perform repairs or inspections, we encourage you to contact one of our MIM member companies, who are experienced professionals in the masonry industry.

Does the MIM provide masonry repair services?

No. The MIM does not perform repairs, construction work, or on‑site services of any kind.

We understand these issues are stressful, but the MIM does not handle water intrusion, structural concerns, or any type of repair assessment.

Does the MIM sell masonry materials or products?

No. We do not sell materials or distribute masonry products.

Can the MIM recommend a contractor for my home project?

While we do not provide individual referrals, we encourage homeowners to work with MIM member companies, who are experienced professionals in the masonry industry. You can find them in our Membership Directory on this website.
