Congressional briefing focuses on resilient construction

From NCMA eNews - February 11, 2016

NCMA, Portland Cement Association, Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute and National Ready Mixed Concrete Association cohosted a congressional briefing, "Mitigating the Rising Costs of Natural Disasters" on February 9, with Senators Bill Nelson (D-FL) and Roy Blunt (R-MO). Industry representatives, including reps from Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH), National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), and a FORTIFIED Home™ builder made presentations about the importance of resilience construction to a number of representatives of elected Senate and House members and the role that the federal government could play in ensuring that communities are in a better position to rebound from the devastating impacts of a natural disaster.
