The National Concrete Masonry Association has joined other members of the North American Concrete Alliance and BuildStrong Coalition in support of the Shelter Act. Senate Bill S1958 and House Bill HR3462 were introduced earlier this summer by Senator Michael Bennett (D-CO) and Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), and U.S. Representatives Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) and Charlie Crist (D-FL). The legislation is designed to help Americans protect their homes or businesses against hurricanes, tornados, floods, drought, and wildfires. The Shelter Act would create a first-of-its-kind disaster mitigation tax credit for families and business owners in disaster-prone areas. Read more.
