NCMA Solutions Center: Can concrete masonry be used as protection against natural disasters?

From NCMA eNews
May 30, 2019

Yes. Concrete masonry is an ideal material when building shelters for protection against natural disasters such as storms/hurricanes and tornadoes. A concrete masonry shelter can be built for small scale residential purposes or can be built as a community shelter to occupy more people. For more information about concrete masonry and shelters see TEK 5-14Concrete Masonry Hurricane and Tornado Shelters.
