The goal of this seminar is to familiarize building officials, fire officials, plans examiners, inspectors, design professionals, contractors, and others in the construction industry with many of the important changes in the 2018 International Building Code® (IBC®).
The seminar overviews the updates from the 2015 to the 2018 IBC, identifying changes in organization and code requirements and the applicability of these requirements to design, plan review and inspection.
This seminar uses The Significant Changes to the International Building Code® 2018 Edition, which will be provided with registration.

TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:
- Accessory storage spaces of any size are now permitted to be classified as part of the occupancy to which they are accessory.
- New code sections have been introduced addressing medical gas systems and higher education laboratories.
- Use of fire walls to create separate buildings is now limited to only the determination of permissible types of construction based on allowable building area and height.
