Robotic fabrication techniques used for Shanghai gallery facade

An artistic group called ‘chi she’ in Shanghai, China has designed exhibition space for a local art organization that features an intricate brick façade. Utilizing a robotic masonry fabrication technique, each brick was laid out individually by a large robotic arm and the project took only five months to complete. The renovation project replaces a previously existing building, retaining and strengthening its exterior walls in order to maximize the exhibition space. Read more.
