NIST says cross-laminated timber needs more fire research

A recent workshop on fire properties of materials concluded cross-laminated timber (CLT) and insulation applied to the exteriors of high-rise buildings are among the materials most in need of urgent research and development. Organized by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the fire workshop brought together key stakeholders from industry, government, academia, and public laboratories.
